DALS IS TOPS

DALS was tops at the NMMU Teacher and Researcher of the Year awards at the Radisson Blu on 9 September 2010 . David Blignaut and Jacqui Luck received their Arts emerging and ToY awards. Jacqui Luck was also named NMMU’s ToY in a grand finale! DALS teachers continue to receive recognition for best language Teaching and Learning practices.

WORDSMITHS REJOICE … Two bestselling textbooks first published in 1999 by current and former NMMU language studies colleagues have been updated with new chapters contributed by former colleagues residing from as far afield as the Middle East. The Communication Handbook and Communication: A hands on approach (Juta) are prescribed by institutions countrywide and will also be used in Dubai from September, a feather in the cap of Applied Languages’ Jacqui Lück (back from left), Eileen Scheckle and Dr Marcelle Harran (front right). They are joined by former colleague Renee van der Merwe (back, right), who now works for the SANTED project, and (front from left) former colleagues Sally Potgieter and Sandra Cleary (editor).
